    PROJECT OVERVIEW:

  • Yard personnel's train marshalling and release skills were not transferring effectively to the job.

  • Herridge designed, and coached the development of, instructional gaming that simulated 'real-life' situations for learners to apply marshalling rules and logistics introduced in the course.

  • Gaming of progressively more complex situations was staggered with formal learning.

  • Instructional gaming was motivating and tested that skills were transferred in an effective and non-threatening format.

    UNIQUE ASPECTS:

  • Games for learning is not widely used in heavy industry.

  • Testing performance was critical to ensure capability and safety on the job.

    PROJECT OVERVIEW:

  • The bank introduced a new application-taking and adjudication system for car and student loans.

  • Herridge's learning strategy relied heavily on gaming components that taught and tested the use of the system.

  • Herridge also designed an Integrated Performance Support System (IPSS) that was incorporated in the learning and on-the-job support.

    UNIQUE ASPECTS:

  • Herridge completed design elements and coached the less-experienced internal group to develop the majority of learning components.

    PROJECT OVERVIEW:

  • Bank personnel needed to switch to new Meridian phones.

  • Herridge designed instructional games to be integrated into the existing courseware.

  • Games increased learning retention and provided an effective testing format.
